Emergency support
COVID-19

During 2020, the Colombian Civil Air Patrol quickly positioned itself as a key player in the response to the SARS-COV-2 emergency, becoming an ally of the National Health Institute and the National Government. In the early phase of the first months of the year, two programs were designed focused on the most pressing needs: 1) the transportation of Covid-19 tests from different parts of the country to Bogotá to be processed by the National Health Institute, and 2) the delivery of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) kits to protect the lives of health personnel in the most remote areas of the country, "under the campaign "Saving Lives by Caring for Those Who Care for Us". With this initiative and thanks to the support of individual and corporate donors and other allies, all the resources were channeled to deliver 366,025 kits in 206 municipalities in 85% of Colombia's departments.
